Happy This Week

As much as I love me some soccer, we will be done with fall season this weekend. I am ready for a break!

We had two evenings free of kid activities this week. We even went out to dinner on a Wednesday! We don’t go out much (hello $80 bill) so it’s really a treat. We had a gift card too which helped the enjoyment factor!

Olivia and I shared Oreos after dinner last night. I try not to indulge in them very often so it was a special treat. She was mimicking my dipping style. So cute!

Last night, because of two accidents on the expressway, it took me an hour and a half to get home. It usually takes me 20 minutes! Well, Olivia was beside herself by the time I finally got home. She was elated when I finally arrived! She kept kissing me and telling me “you’re the best mommy!” And “you’re the most beautiful mommy!” She’s obsessed with me…and I love it!

We went to the apple orchard last weekend and I made the best apple pie of my life! It’s Matt’s favorite and I’ve been trying for years to find the perfect recipe. Yum!!

I found out this week that one of my students has overcome a ton of obstacles in his short life. He is the sweetest, kindest, most adorable 8th grader around. It made me happy to see that he didn’t let all that he has been through wreck him.

Olivia learned how to say “cockroach” when she used to say “cockroad” and “cyborg” when she used to say “cyborn”. She was very proud of herself. (Side note: her current obsession? Monsters vs. Aliens, hence the words.)

Walking Dead is back!! It was amazing!!

AMC is airing horror movies every night. We’ve been binging on horror flicks over here. They are our fave!

Soccer tournament this weekend…let’s hope for nice weather!
