***Linking up with MamaKat today: 4.) Look into your archives. What were you blogging about a year ago around this time? Are you still dealing with the same thing? Your thoughts?
I went back to my posts from a year ago to see what I was blogging about back then. It’s not something I usually take the time to do and it was interesting. In some ways, I’m still struggling with the same issues. In other ways, I’ve grown by leaps and bounds.
In one post, I blogged about “Rough Patches” with Olivia. As any Mom of a child of special needs knows, that never changes. In fact, I have another blog post coming up about that exact topic next week! Those emotional and honest posts take me a while to process and put together. Do we still have rough patches? You betcha!
I was participating in Momalom‘s 5 for 5 a year ago. I wish they’d do that again! I posted “Listen!” in their 6 word challenge. I mused, in 6 short words, about how Matt never listens. Has that changed? Nope! I really think not being able to listen, being a baby when they’re sick and not being able to find things just comes along automatically with a penis. Don’t you?
You know what was really cool? I posted about Age and how I wished my Mom would date. A year later? She’s dating!! Woo hoo!!! Funny what a difference a year can make.
I also posted about how I take pictures of my kids in the same white shirt of Matt’s every year on their birthday to show how they’ve grown. I just went back and looked and started bawling. Where does the time go?? How do they grow so fast?
Lastly, I was posting about Cherished Words and how everything Olivia does is such a gift that we cherish. That is always, always, always true. Even when she calls my mother-in-law a jackass with those cherished words.
Isn’t it crazy how a year can make a huge difference, yet at the same time, things kind of stay the same?
Love this. Especially the penis part. And those white shirt photos. I wish I had thought of something like that! I will call you today!
It’s soooo true!!! 🙂
You are SO good about taking pictures. Your kids will cherish those forever.
Matt’s shirt fits Gabe..waaaah. How did i not notice that before? He’s SO grown up! And dang, you have cute kids 🙂

“I really think not being able to listen, being a baby when they’re sick and not being able to find things just comes along automatically with a penis.”
Totally agree with this! Especially the not being able to find things. It’s like, just because I’m a woman I’m supposed to know where you left your keys… your sunglasses…. your sledgehammer…
I know, right? I’ve made peace with it! Have a great day!!Tiffanywww.elastamom.com
What a wonderful look back! And such gorgeous kids!
Thanks! I think they’re pretty cute myself. 🙂 Have a great day!!Tiffanywww.elastamom.com
Have you made hubby try that shirt on lately? Great post… I love that other people’s kids call people lovely names. Ass face is Riley’s current fav.
Why b/c it fits Gabe??? I KNOW! Assface…that’s a good one! Have a great day!!Tiffanywww.elastamom.com
i LOVE the idea of taking pics in the same shirt every year! I’m gonna copy that 🙂
And seriously, men are the BIGGEST BABIES when they’re sick!
