Happy This Week

I asked Matthew if he thought he would get married someday. He said yes, but not until I’m much older Mom. I definitely want to play a lot first.

We had a conversation about erections a dinner. Yep, we’re that kind of family and I love it. Matt was dying.

Olivia went to camp on Thursday and behaved herself and didn’t cry! Of course she knew Matt was on standby to yell if she didn’t behave. And she called quite a few people ugly. But other than that…

Gabe and I played quite a bit of basketball together this week. I love having one-on-one time with the kids. We also made dinner together. I think those small moments are definitely memorable!

Date night tonight! Last week we went to the art museum. This week we’re going bowling. How’s that for culture shock?

I am re-reading my favorite Judy Blume books for Dana’s #JudyBlumeProject. It is a whole new perspective reading them as a grown up. I can see why these books resonated with me as an adolescent. Still poignant after all these years. And without magic or vampires.

Matthew has been taking swimming lessons and doing really well, especially for being my kid that is afraid of deep water. He even asked how you get to swim in the big lanes like the big kids. As a former swimmer, I am excited at the possibility of a swimmer on my hands!
