I love spending time with my Mom. We walk every Wednesday morning at the crack of dawn. We had pizza night last night. She’s the best Mom and the best Grandma in the world.
Matt and I had an awesome weekend away last weekend. We relaxed and rejuvenated. Bliss.
I treated myself to a Culver’s crispy chicken sandwich. Have you ever had Culver’s? Crazy delicious. They put some secret ingredient in it that makes you crave it fortnightly, smartass!!!! (You must say that in a Scottish accent…and if you haven’t seen So I Married an Axe Murderer over 50 times like me, it’s likely to not be as funny.)
I was able to squeeze in coffee and a walk with two of my dearest friends. Sometimes that’s all you need is a little friend time.
We went and enjoyed the lights at the zoo this week and visited Santa. Guess who still went up and talked to Santa and had his picture taken even? Gabe. Yeah!
Enjoying a glass of my favorite wine, Michigan’s Blackstar Farms cherry wine, makes me sigh with relief. Don’t judge.
And the biggest happy of this week? Olivia has been using the potty much more independently lately. She wakes up dry and she’s had very few accidents. She’s even asked us to use the potty a few times. On Wednesday night, she disappeared for a little bit while we were watching Santa Claus the movie (best Christmas movie ever…it’s from the early 80s…) and came back with her feety pjs unzipped. “Can you help me zip?” I asked her why she was unzipped. “I went pee.” She went in, unzipped, peed, wiped and tried to get her pjs back on ALL BY HERSELF! It was amazing!!!! We all whooped and hollered. Matt told her if she keeps it up, we’ll go to Disney World. Yesterday? One accident. This might be the start of something amazing!!!!
What made you happy this week?
Reading this post!
Love your enthusiasm for all the little things (that are truly big things). And love you even more knowing that you’ve seen So I Married An Axe Murderer at least as many times as I have! (“Now give your mother a kiss or I’ll kick your teeth in!”)
Congrats to Olivia! xoxo
My mom lives about 12 hours away. As much as we butt heads, some days (read: every day) I’d like her to be closer.
Ahhh, it’s so nice to be back to reading my old faves. Fun to come back after, I think, years, and see the changes. Hurrah for Olivia! And hurrah for Culver’s, which I could not live without!
You are using ‘fortnight’! I love it!!
