Pinterest Finds

I try to limit myself to one Pinterest visit a day. I didn’t say I was successful. Here are some of my favorite finds of late. Follow me: tsquared417 I need more pinners to follow!!

I want new clothes so badly. But there’s no money in the budget so I’ll just keep dreaming on Pinterest.

I work from home so I don’t know where I’d wear this…but I want it.

I dream of these boots every night. *Sigh* Do you think they make them in a 10.5? Extra wide calf? And why is everything I want so damn expensive?? My dad always said my sister and I had “champagne dreams on a beer budget”. So true.

Want.

Must have.

I also read this great tutorial on buying jeans. I do not, for the record, own any mom jeans but I liked the way she showed her butt in different jeans and what a difference it makes to have good jeans. And genes. πŸ˜‰

Speaking of good genes, I apparently don’t have the one where you can eat anything and stay trim. I have the gene where you look at something and immediately gain 5 pounds. Not fair. Anyway, I love food. I made these crunchy black bean tacos and they were out of this world. I didn’t really feel bad that they were fried because it was a real corn tortilla and I used very little oil. I made homemade poptarts for the kids using whole wheat flour. Gabe loved them…surprise, surprise Matthew did not. I visit this site quite a bit for healthy food ideas. She’s a little preachy…ok a lot preachy…but has really good healthy food ideas. I also tried this zero calorie, all-natural “cool aid” and it was a hit. Next time I will use a little less vinegar.

My BFF’s birthday is this weekend and we’re having a little par-tay. I always make her a pumpkin pie with homemade crust and homemade whipped cream. This is my favorite recipe…and hers too. I use the pie crust recipe from Pioneer Woman’s last cookbook. Butter, butter, butter! Speaking of desserts, just visit my dessert board sometime because I want to make every single one on there. Right now!

And the next time we have BLTs? I’m so doing this.

I actually did this with my tupperware tops and I love it. My tupperware drawer drives me insane…but not so much now that I have this! I bought one of these for my shower and I have to admit it does come in handy. I have a glass door shower and it’s hard to clean unless you’re in it! So this is a great idea.

Olivia is invited to a birthday party next weekend and it’s her friend, Katie, who has been an amazing friend to Olivia since first grade. I wanted to do something really special for her. I’m making her these signs (not the exact words) for her newly decorated bedroom. I’m also making her some t-shirt bracelets with some of their elementary school walk-a-thon t-shirts. Is that a good idea? I hope so!!! I think I’ll gift wrap them in chalk paper too. What an awesome idea for every holiday or birthday!

Matt and I are in a bit of a rut so I thought I’d make this date night jar for ideas and inspiration. You know, since a trip to Vegas or Key West isn’t in the budget.

Halloween is right around the corner and we are getting pumped up. Guess what Olivia’s going as this year? I’ll give you a hint.

Her idea. Well, sort of. πŸ˜‰

I’m totally doing this with our pumpkins. Unique, huh?

I also want to make these brides for our front yard but that may have to wait until next year. I don’t have much experience working with chicken wire.

And I’m going as a zombie. This kind of a zombie…not a scary one.

Last, but definitely not least, here are some of my favorite quotes I found this week. The quotes are my favorite. I look at them all the time, I share them with my kids and my students and I try to really believe them.

Have you found anything on Pinterest worth sharing lately?

  1. Pinterest is addicting! My to-do list is so long now because of pinterest πŸ™‚ I’ve been wanting to do a “date night” jar too for awhile. I’m in need of a date badly!

  2. OK, this post is exactly why I had to banish myself from pinterest! TOO MUCH GOOD STUFF! I adore those boots as well…and the red coat! Gorgeous.

I am literally buying a dish drainer for my tupperware lids TODAY. No joke. So brilliant!

  3. One of these days you’re going to get me to join Pinterest! πŸ™‚

Love, love, love that last quote. I’m going to add it to my bulletin board.

  4. ugh, you’re one of those people that actually do the things they pin? I don’t know if we can be friends anymore…

  5. Fortunately I only have time to get on Pinterest once a day! I don’t know how you do it being at home and on your computer all day!!! I love the recipes and I use it a lot for cake ideas for the boys. I too dream of new clothes. And, I love the quotes, though I don’t look at those nearly as often as I should.

  6. I have a love/hate response to this kind of post. I just spent WAY too much time following your links – and I don’t regret following them (how have I not know about all those jean rules?!) it’s just that I still have to renew library books and order costumes and pay online bills…
Wonder if there is a market for Pinterest weeders – like you could get paid to cull the best ideas. And I could consider the minutes I just spent as less than I might have on my own… so you *saved* me time!!

  7. OMG, I don’t know if I love you or hate you for giving us more reasons to get lost in Pinterest. Okay, I admit it, it’s love. πŸ™‚ Following your pins now. Oh, and how hot would you look in that little red and gray number?? Maybe you should send Santa a link… πŸ™‚
