Happy This Week

Here’s a few of the happy things I found this week…I’d love to hear yours too!!

A day spent with Gabe. He was sick and had a weird rash (let’s not talk about that) so he needed to go to the doctor. It was right during my class time so I decided to take a half day. We went out to lunch at his favorite place, Panera, went shopping for his Halloween costume and new track pants. We had lots of time to chat, to just hang out, to just be.

My weekly wine dates with my BFF are now weekly workout dates. I don’t know what I’d do without her. And my husband. And my Mom.

Olivia told her aide that she doesn’t like garlic and she doesn’t like alcohol. She cracks me up.

The boys and I were watching Back to the Future III on Wednesday night before bed. Matthew all of a sudden said “I’m really tired! I’m going to bed!” I looked at him and he was teary. It turns out he was really afraid that Marty was going to die and Doc was going to get stuck back in time. I don’t think of Matthew as my sensitive one and sometimes he reminds me that I’m very wrong. He has such a big heart.

Matt and I were able to spend the entire day together last Saturday. We really needed it and it was so fun. Thanks, Mom.

Whole Foods Dark Chocolate Salted Caramels. Yes!

A glass of my favorite wine—Black Star Farms Cherry Wine—makes me very happy. I may have spilled some and licked it up off the counter so I didn’t waste any. Maybe.

Watching the boys and Matt play catch with the football in the front yard.

I took my former neighbor’s senior pictures on Sunday. It was so fun. She is such a great girl…and gorgeous too. I wish I had a professional camera and more lenses, but I still think I managed to capture her age and beauty. When we moved in to the neighborhood, she was 3!!! I felt very lucky to be a part of her senior year.

Hugs and kisses from my family. I always need that and it always makes me happy.

What made you happy this week?

  1. After a long day, I would probably lick up spilled wine too. Hope you and yours have a great weekend.

  2. I like garlic and alcohol.

  3. What made me happy this week: reading that I’m not the only adult in the world who thinks a zamboni is perfectly acceptable!! Too funny. I gotta try that cherry wine!

  4. We are reading a very cool book in my class. I teach preschool students with multiple disabilities. We are reading Pete the Cat’s White shoes and watching the live reading of the story by the author. My kids are attending and trying to speak and rocking out to the music! Lots to love there πŸ™‚

  5. Keegan has a list of movies that he will never, Ever, EVER watch again because he cries. Iron Giant? He balls like a baby every time he sees it. Brothers from a different mother, I swear it!
Olivia needs to seriously reconsider garlic and alcohol! You know, sometime later in life πŸ˜‰

  6. LOL…after I posted on you latest blog, I read this and really wished I lived by you. Some of my happy things….hot yoga, dark chocolate with sea salt, cuddling on the couch with my kids, taking pictures (check out my homecoming album :)) and spontaneous hugs from my teen-agers! And unfortunately, Cooper has snuck a sip of my wine or his dad’s beer and says “more please”…..dang it!
