When I saw Mamakat’s prompt “Share your top 10 favorite things about fall”, I couldn’t resist playing along. Fall is my absolute favorite season. Well, maybe it’s spring. Damn, I love summer too. And the snow. Hmmm….I’m still sticking with fall.
1.) Pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin! Pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin coffee creamer, pumpkins on my porch. PUMPKINS!!!
2.) My baby’s birthday! Even though fall is nuts when you’re a teacher and a parent, I love that Matthew’s birthday reminds us to stop a second and celebrate.
3.) Cold weather clothes! I have always disliked summer clothes mostly because I look ridiculous in shorts and so I spend the whole summer in pants and sweating my ass off. I did find two maxi dresses this summer though which was like wearing a nightgown so that helped a little. But I love sweaters, jeans and Chuck Taylors more than anything.
4.) Working out outside without sweating to death. There’s nothing better than a fall bike ride.
5.) Soccer, soccer, soccer and more soccer. My boys are passionate about soccer and it’s so enjoyable to watch them do something they love.
6.) Apple orchard, apple picking, apple pie, apple everything!!
7.) The beautiful colors everywhere. The leaves, the pumpkins, the apples, the trees, the still-green grass. Fall is so freaking beautiful I can’t stand it!
8.) Halloween!!! I’m like a big kid…I love this stupid holiday.
9.) Return of my favorite TV shoes. I’m a TV junkie and I’m not ashamed to admit. Right now I am basking in the glow of my 42″ Samsung while I reunite with The Hecks, The Dunphy’s, Seattle Grace and the detectives of NY SVU. I’m so happy.
10.) The kids go back to school…that’s the best part of fall, right?

Yes, I agree fall is wonderful. I used to hate it when I taught school, not because I disliked teaching but because I lost the freedom to do whatever I wanted when school started. But now I’m retired, so I can fully appreciate all the great things about autumn.

I love the changing weather. It makes us all feel renewed after a hot and sticky summer. Halloween is fun too! I’m getting excited about it already.
I love the crisp air and the taste of hot choclate and pumpkin spice lattes. Fall is my favorite season! Thanks for sharing what you like about fall.
I am SO JEALOUS. I am in LA and it is still hotter than hell over here. it’s going to be 96 again this weekend…make it stop!!!
My fave part of fall is just NOT SWEATING ALL THE TIME. hehe 🙂 Can you tell I am sick of summer??
I talked about going to the apple orchard in my list, too! lol We pick pumpkins at the same place. Ok, I’ll admit it, i’d rather sweat in summer than freeze in winter. I live in MN and it’s too dang cold here! lol
