Thank You Notes

***This post inspired by MamaKat’s writing workshop prompt: 5.) Who do you have to thank? Following Jimmy Fallon ‘s famous thank you note writing style, write or vlog a list of 10 thank you cards you ‘d like to write this week.***

Dear Facebook,
Thank you for showing me all of the marvelous vacations and day-trips many of my friends are enjoying. I love feeling deprived and poor and envious.

Dear Allergies,
Thank you for the daily 100 sneezes, the eyes that make me look like I just got into a scratch fight with a cat and the inability to breathe. Love ya!

Dear Self-Esteem,
What the hell did I ever do to you? Thanks for nothing.

Dear students,
Thank you for asking me the same question 100 times even though I just answered it 5 minutes earlier and sent you a detailed email answering it.

Dear computer,
Thank you for being a total asshole so far this school year. I rather enjoyed those random Meryl Streep interviews and spooky Halloween music that would randomly play throughout my day with no way of turning them off. Oh and the virus you sent me? Fantastic!

Dear Lego,
Thank you for making new sets at the speed of light. There will never be enough Legos. My wallet thanks you too.

Dear Mother Nature,
Thank you for making the weather so lovely this weekend. I’m looking forward to watching Matthew’s first soccer game in 65 degree rain with gale-force winds.

Dear Brain,
Thank you for the early morning wake-up calls this week. I’ve been able to get so much done by getting up at 3 a.m.

Who are you writing a thank you note to this week?

  1. Oh my gosh, these crack me up. I love seeing this sassy side of you.

We have our first soccer game this weekend too and then it’s my oldest’s birthday party in the afternoon. I’ll be thinking of you as I shiver under my umbrella with soggy feet and frizzy hair. 😉

  2. haha! your computer issues sound frightening (not that I don’t love me some meryl streep).

I like your self-esteem one! In all seriousness! I often have conversations with my own brain, telling it to shut up and be normal 🙂 Sometimes it helps!

  3. These were cracking me up… it’s good that you still have your sense of humor.

  4. The Lego people are evil… EVIL I tell ya!!!
