Mainely Great part 2

Ask the boys what their favorite part of Maine was and they would tell you rocks. They found rocks and threw rocks and climbed rocks like it was their job. When you’re an almost 7 and 10-year-old boy, is there anything better? We headed to Seawall for a picnic, a look at a lighthouse, a little hike, a seashell hunt and…you guessed it…rocks.

That night we decided to get dressed up and head into town for some shopping and dinner. Matthew purchased some very Maine souvenirs—a puffin and a motorcycle. That’s what you think of when you think of Maine, right? Gabe bought a slingshot…with “Bar Harbor” written on the side. That’s a little closer to a souvenir I guess. Olivia picked a pink stuffed skunk with huge eyes that reminded her of my Mom’s dog. Aren’t they funny?

We sat on a bench looking out at the ocean and relaxed. I captured my girl’s freckles…Gabe captured a rare shot of Matt and I.

I will have to say that Maine was difficult to navigate with Olivia. (Remember the rocks?) We did find these awesome carriage roads that were easy for us to take her stroller on so we could hike. The boys rode their bikes, Liv sat in her stroller and Matt and I enjoyed each other’s company and the breathtaking views.

I guess it was a little too much hiking for this princess. She NEVER falls asleep like this!!

After a long day of sightseeing and hiking, we headed back to the campground and straight to the pool. The first few days we were there the water was about 90 degrees! It felt like a bathtub which was great for Olivia. One day she swam for 4 hours straight! Seeing as we were the only ones in the campground under the age of 60, we usually had the pool all to ourselves.

Not a bad view from the camper, eh?
