Here’s what made me happy this week…
Summer haircuts. Is there anything cuter than a little boy with their summer do?
Matt turned 40. I hope I get to be with him when he turns 100.
New clothes. I finally used a gift card from Christmas and my birthday money and got some new clothes. I decided I wouldn’t wait until I reached the “perfect weight” and just went anyway. I found lots of new things and I felt great about myself. Is there anything better than new clothes?
A pedicure. I finally used my gift card for that too! A pedicure is so heavenly.
A day at the lake. We were able to go out on the boat and even swim in the lake on Monday! Of course now it’s 50 degrees, but that’s Ohio for you!

There really ISN’T anything better than new clothes! Just this week I bought some for myself for the first time in ages–a size bigger than I’ve ever bought before. Because the perfect weight? Is whatever weight you are on the day that you have an H&M giftcard 🙂

I was happy this morning as I put Olivia’s hair in pigtails (or piggies, as she calls them) because back in August…there wasn’t enough hair there for piggies.
It was wonderful walking down the stairs this morning to hear Tom telling the girls about the coming day, hearing him excitedly tell them that Gram is bringing them to him early so she can get away for the weekend. How awesome is it to have a daddy be excited to spend extra time with his girlies?
I’m a big believer in dressing the body you have. I spent a lot of years wishing I was skinnier and not buying myself clothes my current body really deserved. I still kind of wish I was skinnier, but until then I’ll happily dress my more curvy body in clothes that make me feel good 🙂
What made me happy this week….my 17 year old step daughter came home and told me that she appreciates everything that I do for her. She said that she knows all the things I tell her may be annoying but I “nag” because I love her.
Pedicures are glorious. Now that it’s sandal weather, I may have to break down and get one myself.

I went to Jack’s kindergarten celebration and totally cried….and that made me happy…because you know, he’s the second kid and I figured my cold gray heart wouldn’t be moved….
