Did You Know?

It’s been a while since I’ve done the award thing, but since Melissa, my new friend from A Wide Line, bestowed this on me, I really wanted to follow through! Thank you, Melissa, for this fun idea for a Friday.

Here’s how it works:
Thank the blogger who gave you the award.
List seven things people may not know about you.
Pass the award onto fifteen bloggers and notify them.
Post the badge on your blog.

I’m going to pass it on to 5. Fifteen is a lot of linking up and I just don’t have the energy for that today!!

Is there anything you all don’t know about me? I don’t think so but here we go.

1.) I think when Matt and I grow old, we will have separate TV rooms. We have complete opposite TV tastes, except for Walking Dead. I like fluff, fun or drama in my TV. He likes to learn things. Blech.

2.) Every time I go somewhere without my family, I’m convinced something terrible is going to happen. Even if it’s just a short trip to Columbus or something. Why do I do that?

3.) I really want to get purple or pink highlights in my hair but I fear I’m too old. I am. I know it. But I still want them to go with my short hair-do.

4.) I would also really like a nose ring. I know, I’m too old. But still. I want.

5.) Last December, I bought a $200 dress for a wedding. It looked fantastic. Then I took it back because it cost so much money. I ended up wearing an old wrap dress that I don’t like anymore, felt terrible in it, changed into pants and a sweater before the reception because I couldn’t take the Spanx anymore, and went feeling like a frump. Buy the dress people!

6.) I bought an $80 pair of boots last week and am in love with them. I struggle with wanting to take them back but I’m not going to do it. They’re impractical and ridiculous and I love them. We have a girls’ night tonight and even though we’re not going anywhere, I’m wearing my boots. So there.

7.) I was a French major for a while in college. Until they told me had to go and live in France for at least a semester. The thought of moving to a foreign country for 6 months freaked me out so much, I quit. I’m such a chicken.

Ok, so nothing fascinating or earth-shattering but I hope it was interesting! Here are the 5 bloggers I’m passing it on to. I’m choosing 5 of my new favorites so you can fall in love with them too!!

  1. Thanks so much! What a nice surprise. I hope you rocked those boots and always get the dress:). So sweet of you. I really appreciate all your kindness.

  2. I just want to say that I love #1. We actually already have two tv rooms for that very reason. Tom and I are just like you and Matt, totally different when it comes to what to watch on television. Oh yes, I’m all about the fluff. TV is my time to turn my brain off. He’s a learner too. I don’t understand that at all. πŸ™‚

  3. I want to see the boots! Donato & I don’t watch any of the same shows either. I am worried about when the kids are gone :o) I say get the highlights & the nose ring. You can totally pull it off!

  4. Get the pink or purple highlights!!!! Do it!!!!

  5. First of all, you are NEVER too old for pink or purple highlights. If you don’t want to go for all out highlights get a feather. You would rock the purple or pink highlights. Second, you are a good mom, sometimes it’s nice to splurge our yourself instead of your kids, so soak up your enjoyment of those new boots—you deserve them! And finally, you are NEVER too old for a nose ring. Get one and wear it with confidence!! You’ll rock the hair, nose ring and boots! I only wish you would have kept the dress. ;o)

  6. Thank you so much! I’m the same way as #2. Or every time my kids go somewhere without me, like with their dad or grandparents, I think for sure something is going to happen and I spend the entire time I could be relaxing instead worrying. And I say you should definitely go for the highlights, and the nose ring!

  7. Well, thank you, thank you for passing on this award to me πŸ™‚ I also wanted to tell you that we must be kindred spirits (not sure I even know what that means) but anyway, I cannot believe how many of the things you shared about yourself that I can totally agree with for myself, especially the one about going away without your family. Oh, and I can’t tell you how many times I have taken back clothes I thought were too expensive and you know what, I have put aside exactly $80 for a pair of boots because I really want some and my husband is going to make me buy them and not take them back πŸ™‚ Oh, and the nose ring or belly button ring, I totally want one but I will never do it because I have convinced myself I am way past that age.

  8. These are great! Your Hubs and my Hubs should watch TV together. I’m all “CSI” and “Criminal Minds” and “Up All Night.” And he’s all “How It’s Made” and anything else on the Discovery channel. Snooze-fest. And, for the record, I think you would look KILLER with purple highlights and a nose ring. Do it, mama. πŸ™‚

  9. I love these kind of memes! I think you should try temporary purple and pink highlights. You don’t know if you can pull it off until you try πŸ™‚ And I have a hard time buying myself nice things. Like boots. And dresses. And other stuff. So stupid.

  10. I love that you studied french. I have studied it on and off for years but I never went to France either and I cannot speak it. I especially cannot understand a real French speaker. They need to speak at a ridiculously slow pace for me to get anything!

Enjoy those boots — I wish you had kept the dress. πŸ™‚

    Have a great week!

  11. Get the highlights!!! I have friends much older than you who are sporting highlights of various colors and/or feathers. You could totally pull it off!
Keep the boots. You must do something for you every now and again. You deserve it.
