Unbelievably Good

Olivia never ceases to amaze me.

She had no transition time over the summer this year.

Her special education teacher is out on maternity leave.

She has a new regular ed teacher.

One of the special ed aides moved away.

She has quite a few kids in her class that she didn’t have last year.

She has a new art teacher and a new speech therapist.

She didn’t want to get out of bed this morning.

She’s not been using the potty regularly for the past few weeks.

I was a wee bit nervous about school starting and how she would react.

And then what does she do?

Goes and has a perfect first day of school!

She used the potty the whole day.

She stayed in the regular ed room the whole day and behaved just fine.

Who is this girl??? I’m so proud right now I could burst.

Transition who? Sensory overload what? Amazing, right?

She was really pissed off at me this morning for waking her up so early (which was so teenager-like that I just loved it!) so I promised she could get right into her jammies when she got home. She stepped off the bus, looked at me and said “Where’s my pjs?!?!”

I love my girl. Man is she growing up.
