O-H-I-O

A beautiful, summer-like Saturday…the perfect day for…

Ohio State football, baby! Matt surprised me three weeks earlier with a text that said “You. Me. OSU vs. Penn State Nov.13th. Your Mom’s watching the kids.” I was so excited…by the fact that he planned it all and I was finally going to get to go to my first OSU game at The Shoe…and it would be an entire day spent just the two of us.

We arrived in plenty of time to enjoy the “Skull Session” before the game. The band plays before the game in the old basketball arena. It was so, so cool. The players and Coach Tressel come too. Very cool indeed.

The stadium was amazing. There were so many people! And what a game! OSU only scored 3 points in the first half…but scored 35 in the second half!! Very exciting. The noise was absolutely deafening!!

I’m not sure which was my favorite…the players and the game or the band. It’s a toss up!

Oh and want to know another amazing part of the day? Guess who we were lucky enough to tailgate with?

This little beauty. Remember Celia? You don’t know or understand strength and grace unless you know Celia and her family. She was having a really good day too; I even witnessed a few of her beautiful smiles.

Last, but definitely not least, I enjoyed some time with Celia’s Mom, Jenni (to my right). I had met her years ago (when I was pregnant with Olivia actually) because her sister (Kate, to my left) was roommates with my sister. They are still friends today! It was so nice to give Jenni (and her husband Andy) a hug and chat for a while and enjoy a beer. I also got to meet Tucker…but he didn’t stop moving long enough for me to take a picture! He’s even cuter in person, if that’s possible!

It was a nice surprise to have a day with my husband, enjoying OSU football and spending time with a dear, bloggy friend.

O-H-I-O!
