I like thinking about this topic. If I had a million dollars, what would I do?
You know what my favorite thing would be to do with so much extra money?
Slurge on my family and friends. **
I can’t tell you how many times I visit The Vintage Pearl and think of all of the beautiful necklaces I could make for friends. Or Tweak and pick out jewelry for my friends for their birthdays. Or that I’d like to send my friends or my Mom or my sister flowers for no reason. Or take my friend (who hates to shop) on a shopping spree. Or better yet, go buy the clothes for her so she doesn’t have to even set foot in a store! Or get my crazy, busy friends cleaning ladies. Or send Olivia’s special ed teacher and aide on a cruise. I’d go crazy. And I’d love every minute of it.
I would love to be able to do that for my friends. If only I had a million dollars…
What would you do?
**This is in addition to save for college, quit my job, travel, give to charity and buy a whole new wardrobe. I wouldn’t spend it all on you!**
My husband I have this dream a lot. First, we’d pay off our house and my grandparent’s house. Then we would give some to our families. We would buy ourselves a farm and then we would put some away. I would probably have to keep my job, because I carry the insurance, although I would love to be a full time stay at home mom!
It would afford the opportunity to stop worrying about the one thing I constantly worry about…money. 🙂
I do the same thing! Funny. 🙂
Here’s what I would do with a million dollars, or at least the two biggest on my list are 1) I would build the house of my dreams. It’s nothing mansion-size that would cost the whole million dollars. Just a simple 4 bedroom house with a mud room, kitchen with an island with bar stools, and all the detail of crown moldings and chair rails, etc. and 2) I would pay the cost to send all my dear hydro families that I know with kiddos that suffer from seizures and the icky side effects of the medication to Cayman’s Naturopathic Doctor. It’s expensive and insurance will not honor it as a form of medical care. Yet it works even better. Try to make sense of that.
God, what would I do. I mean, really, what would I do?
I would pay off our house and set the girls up for college. Then I would tell my hubs to work less hours so that we could play, play, play!!!
Buy a small house for my daughter and I and save for retirement. Help my parents out. If only… *sigh*
I’d send my parents on a well deserved vacation!
Then I’d send my husband and I on a well deserved vacation!
And then I’d spoil my friends with gigantic gift baskets of junk food.
We dream that dream around here too. Friends and family at the top. This awesome small business – not for profit idea that we have concerning children with special needs is a very close second. I don’t think I could quit my job – it’s too much a part of who I am and what I love, but certainly reduce my hours!!!
Of course, family and friends top the list. But after that, I would probably donate the rest to charity.
