So after 10 days of vacation, 4 days at Disney, my husband has a nickname for me: Clark Griswold a.k.a. Sparky. I guess I’m the Energizer Bunny/Sparky to his….Scrooge? But he’s almost vacationed out. I’m trying not to get upset and just continue to enjoy my ol’ Griswold self. Cuz I’m having a blast. And so are the kids.
Can I tell you that they haven’t fought once? No exaggeration…20 hours in the car and 10 days of complete togetherness and no fights? I love these children. See, Disney is really magical!
Matt is having fun posing for pictures though. We keep cracking up at all of the grown-ups at the parks who are there without kids who stop and pose for pictures. No offense to any of you out there who might do this but we just think it’s downright hilarious. Probably because we wish we could vacation alone too. I’d probably strike a damn fine pose if I was on vacation with just my husband. Of course we wouldn’t be at Disney, but I digress.
He also had to take a picture of this guy. He was all tucked in a prim and proper…except for his shirt tucked into his underwear. We’re so very mature.
Matthew provided some major comic relief after our fun-filled day at the Magic Kingdom. We were just watching a movie and chilling out when he came out in these numbers. I think my Mom almost peed her pants. Me too.
We went to the Animal Kingdom today. That place is so cool. Gabe is being so brave on this trip—he’s usually my chicken. He even went on Expedition Everest which is quite a big ride. He was so proud of himself. We also went on another bigger roller coaster that both he and Olivia loved. It’s so fun to watch her scream at the top of her lungs.
We managed to snag a great spot along the parade route. Olivia absolutely freaks out over her favorite characters which makes the parades really fun to watch. See her arms up in fists in the collage? That’s her shouting “YES!” when Mickey finally came out. Priceless.
And last, but definitely not least, we come back to the hotel and swim at the end of each day. We are seriously melting down here people. They said on the news it felt like 107 degrees here today. We felt every single degree I’m telling ya! Matthew continues to blow me away with his newfound swimming skills. To think that at the beginning of the summer he wouldn’t even put his face in…and now he’s jumping in and swimming with out a lifejacket! Awesome.
Gabe is still a fish and we practically have to drag him out of the pool to go to bed. And Olivia has been cracking us up in the hot tub/whirlpool. She dives in and it pushes her around and around in a circle. It’s quite funny.
So go ahead and call me Sparky or Clark. We’re all having a great time!
So glad you are enjoying yourselves! Will you be at the 5 p- conference?
I’m so happy for you guys. What a fantastic vacation! (And seriously – that guy with his shirt tucked into his underwear? That is hilarious!)
sounds like you are having so much fun! since we were just there, i feel like i’m reliving a little of my trip too. lilly LOVED expedition everest as well. however, it was NOT 107 degrees there in april. you guys are crazy! i love the heat but would be melting in that kind of weather too. hopefully the hotness has kept it not so busy??? thanks for sharing!
It’s so great that you all were able to take this time and do so many different things!
What a magical vacation 🙂 I love all your pictures- especially the ones of Olivia having the best time ever!
I couldn’t stop laughing over the picture of the guy with his shirt tucked into his underwear. I love that you got a picture of it- I probably would’ve too for the blog 😉
Looks like the vacation of a lifetime! Every family needs a Sparky–in our case, it’s my husband. I’m the Scrooge. Your kids (and you) look like you’re having a blast!
I love reading about your vacation! I hope you will blog the whole conference, too – so sorry we will have to miss it this year.
Sounds like a great time, Sparky!
We’re hoping to do our first Disneyland trip this year (since I went in 1984!). It looks like your family is having a blast and I am with your husband, Underwear Tucker needed his picture taken. I was at Peet’s once and there was a totally cocky guy on his laptop who had a tag dangling from his underarm. Full on price tag/size tag… When you start to think you’re badass, the universe always has plane to remind you otherwise!
Sounds like your family is having a great time. I think vacation spots are great people watching opportunities.
Ohhh I’m so jealous!!:) Looks like you all had so much fun.
I am like you-totally Griswold all the way!
OH, and LOVED the shot w/ the shirt tucked into the underwear. You never do know who or what you’ll see when you’re out and about! LOL
